You're not the same person you were 5 years ago... or 10 years ago... or... you get the point. But at the same time, you are very much the same person you have always been. Moments happen in our lives - whether good or bad - that impact us. Each impactful moment is like adding a new layer to ourselves. Photography has a way of capturing those layers of life for you. So that when you look back at photos of your life, it can feel like a set of Russian Dolls. All of your former selves are nestled inside of each other, growing and changing in appearance as each new layer is formed, yet never fully changing the innermost being. You can remember just how you felt in each photo from a past layer of your life. Each layer... each photographed moment... has formed you into the person you are today.

This is why I love photography. It has the ability to capture the joy of this moment, bottle it up, and provide you with a beautiful new layer of your life that you can revisit for years and generations to come.
